 Nothing cures a case of the lazies...or a case of "bad hair day' like a good old headband, but this classic hair accessory doesn't have to end there! A simple (or extravagant) headband can turn a simple style into something special! 

 We love this unique take on headbands!

Who needs a necklace with a a statement making jeweled headband and messy braid!?

 

Add some elegance to a short, textured cut.

Tuck medium to long hair through your headband to create a simple yet elegant updo.

Sleek and ultra glamorous, you can't go wrong with the classic beauty of vintage waves! Leave the style down or swept to one side, the little bit of effort that this style takes is well worth it!

TOOLS to help you get the look // 1" curling iron or curl stick / hairspray / shine spray

Try blowing your hair out first using Kevin.Murphy's Anti.Gravity, this will help protect your hair from the heat and to lock your style into place for the whole night. After curling each section of hair spray Session.Spray (Strong Hold Finishing hairspray) over hair. You can comb your curls into waves using a comb or paddle brush. Once you have achieved the look that you want, lightly spray your style once more with hairspray. For a little extra sparkle, spritz some KM Shimmer.Shine onto the finished style!

Orange Crush...Hayley Williams of Paramore

Pastels have been all the rage lately when it comes to contemporary hair color, but we still have a soft spot for the bright, super saturated shades as well! We are currently crushing on the wild tangerine tresses of Haley Williams, lead singer of Paramore. Her style has morphed from bright punk shades of orange to softer, more sophisticated shades of ginger more recently. We think she looks amazing both ways!

Pomp Madness

We are loving the styling inspiration from clothing line - For Love and Lemons - lookbook "Cry Baby" where 1950's greaser meets hot modern babe! Pompadours are tons of fun for both sexes...and although Elvis brought the look back to the mainstream in the 50's, it was actually named after a woman! And what do you do the day after the pomp?...Slick it back with your switchblade comb of course!

Pompadour refers to a hairstyle which is named for Madame de Pompadour (1721-1764), mistress of King Louis XV. Although there are numerous variations of the style for both women and men, the basic concept is hair swept upwards from the face and worn high over the forehead, and sometimes upswept around the sides and back as well.

GET THE LOOK

For a softer, matte finish, work a small amount TIGI Candy Fixations Mega Whip into damp hair and rough dry your hair to add volume. Sprinkle some TIGI Candy Fixations Sugar Dust on your roots through out the top of your head then lightly tease your hair into the shape that you want. Finish with a light spray of hairspray!

For a traditional slicked pompadour ...
Rub LAYRITE between your palms until it is soft, then work it thoroughly into your hair.
Then mold your hair into the style that you want with a comb.
